Subramanya Swamy (otherwise called as Kumara Swamy, the elder son of Lord Shiva) temple in Undrajavaram has historic significance. The diety (idol) is centurues old is in dire need for restoration. Initial attempts of having a vendi kavacham (Shield made of Silver) is helping a bit but the original idol still requires additional vendi kavacha's so that it will prevent the idol from deteriorating further.
In addition, the temple premises is quite vast and the flooring needs an uplift. Mallina Foundation is planning on replacing the floors with pavers and provide tree guards such that the visiting devotees/piligrims and tourists have an enhanced experience with their visit combined with comfort and convinience. This initiative will be a complete restoration of the idols and a facelift to the temple premises. Architectural plans, details of the project and, the associated progress will be shared with all the donors.
